In short

The app collects no data. Not your name, not your affirmations, not how you use it.
It technically cannot send anything: it does not even request Internet permission.
This website, however, does measure its audience and offers you forms. That is the only part where data is processed, and it is detailed below.
No personalised advertising, no reselling of your data. Ever.

Do not confuse the two: the mobile app and this website are separate things. The app collects nothing at all (section 2). This website, like most websites, measures its audience (section 3). The website’s tools are not in the app, and have no way of reaching it.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Guillaume Fougeret, publisher of MyAffirmPlay, a micro-enterprise registered in France.

2. Inside the app: nothing is collected

The published version of MyAffirmPlay does not request Internet permission. Android therefore prevents the app from sending anything over the network. It is not a promise, it is a technical impossibility, and you can check it yourself in the app’s permissions, on your own phone.

In practical terms:

No account, no sign-up is needed to use the app.
The synthetic voice is computed on your device. Your affirmations pass through no server, neither ours nor anyone else’s.
Your voice recordings stay on your phone, in the app’s private space. We have no access to them.
No analytics, no crash reporting, no trackers. In particular, there is no Google Analytics in the app: that tool runs on the website, never here. The app does not know who you are or how you use it.
No cloud backup. Automatic backup to Google Drive is disabled for the app’s content. Direct transfer to a new phone does remain possible.

This is a significant change from versions before 2.0, which relied on an online speech synthesis service and a technical measurement tool. Both dependencies have been removed entirely.

If you share or export an audio file, that is your decision, and the file then follows the rules of whichever tool you chose.

3. On this website, and only here

Everything below concerns the myaffirmplay.com website, not the app. This site is an ordinary WordPress site and, unlike the app, it does process some data. Here is exactly what, without evasion.

Forms. If you voluntarily fill in a form to write to us, receive content or subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your first name and your email address. They are used only to reply to you and to send you what you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Retention: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. A single line to [email protected] is enough to unsubscribe at any time.

Audience measurement. The website uses Google Analytics to know how many people visit it and which pages interest them. This tool sets cookies and sends browsing data to Google. We use it to improve the site, never to identify you personally. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Anti-spam. Form submissions pass through Akismet, which checks that they are not automated. This involves sending the sender’s email address and IP address to Automattic, the service’s publisher.

The website’s processors are therefore: Google (audience measurement, webmaster tools, and delivery of our emails through Gmail), Automattic (anti-spam and Jetpack statistics), and our hosting provider.

4. What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or pass on your data. We run no personalised advertising, no marketing profiling, and we do not cross-reference website data with app data, since the app produces none.

One honest clarification: Google Play compiles its own download and crash statistics, as it does for every app distributed on its platform. That data belongs to Google; we add nothing to it and link it to no individual.

5. Security

The best protection is the one that applies here: data that never leaves cannot be intercepted. Your affirmations and recordings do not leave your phone.

Exchanges with this website are encrypted (HTTPS). Newsletter email addresses are stored securely and used only for the mailings you consented to.

6. Your rights

The GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw your consent, and to request its portability.

7. Changes

This policy will change if the app or our tools change. Any significant modification will be signalled, and the version date above updated.
